FK-KMK UGM. Prof. Salvatore Di Somma, MD., Ph.D from La Sapienza University Rome, Italy visited the Cardiovascular Working Group of the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing UGM on Thursday (31/8).
Prof. Salvatore’s agenda during this visit are discussions with the Dean Team and the Cardiovascular Working Group and visited the FK-KMK biobank. Prof. Salvatore told that he was impressed with the development of the FK-KMK biobank which was good. He also appreciated the research at FK-KMK UGM which had produced a biomarker kit. “The Cardiovascular Working Group at FK-KMK UGM has very good team performance so that it can develop biobank and biomarker that are useful for the development of the field of medicine,” he explained.
In his discussion with the Dean of FK-KMK UGM, dr. Yodi Mahendradhata, M.Sc., Ph.D., FRSPH, Prof. Salvatore said that the data from Indonesia was very interesting as a research sample. “With data from Indonesia and our technology, there will be a process of exchanging insights so that collaboration can run well,” he added.
Dr. Yodi as the Dean, agreed with Prof. Savatore’s statement which is regarding the performance of the Cardiovascular Working Group Team. “From what I have observed, this team does have good leadership and always collaborates with other departments so that they get insight from various angles,” said Dr. Yodi.
Not only that, both parties also hope to collaborate through student exchanges so that cooperation does not stop with just one generation.
In this discussion, the Deputy Deans were present, namely dr. Ahmad Hamim Sadewa, Ph.D (Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs), Dr. dr. Lina Choridah, Sp.Rad(K) (Vice Dean for Research and Development), and Dr. dr. Sudadi Sp.An., KNA., KAR. (Vice Dean for Cooperation, Alumni and Community Service).
