Manifesting Good Quality of Leadership in Health Care

FK-KMK UGM. Doctoral Study Program Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM organized a Guest Lecture event titled “Enhancing Leadership in Health Care” on Thursday (1/12) through a zoom meeting. Dr. Robert Priharjo from Anglia Ruskin University is attending as a speaker in this event.

Dr. Robert conveyed that based on what Peter Guy Northouse said, leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal. “Leadership appears to be a critical determinant of organizational success,” he said.

Any leader is currently facing 3 situations, such as a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world. “Therefore, personal quality is very important to be improved to deal with these situations,” he added.

A key challenge facing all organizations is to nurture cultures that ensure the delivery of continuously improving high-quality, safe, and compassionate health care. “The most important element in leadership is a combination of emotional expressiveness, self-confidence, self-determination, and freedom from internal conflict,” Dr. Robert said.
