FK-KMK UGM. The Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FK-KMK UGM) hosted a courtesy visit from a delegation of the University of Melbourne, Australia, on Wednesday, August 26th, 2026 at the Executive Room, 2nd Floor, KPTU Building, FK-KMK UGM. The visit was held to continue discussions on the existing partnership between the two institutions and to explore new opportunities for collaboration.
The University of Melbourne delegation was led by Prof. Margie Danchin, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, accompanied by A/Prof. Kayley Lyons, Director of the Master of Public Health program at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, and A/Prof. Anita Horvath, Academic Lead for Clinical Research Programs and Course Convenor of the Master of Clinical Research/Graduate Programs in Clinical Research, Department of Medical Education, Melbourne Medical School.
The delegation was welcomed by the leadership of FK-KMK UGM, including Dean of FK-KMK UGM Prof. dr. Yodi Mahendradhatta, M.Sc., Ph.D., FRSPH; the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs; the Vice Dean for Research and Development; the Vice Dean for Collaboration, Alumni, and Community Services; the Head of the Department of Health Policy and Management; the Head of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Population Health; the Head of the Master’s Study Program in Health Policy and Management; and the Head of the Master’s Study Program in Public Health.
In his remarks, Dean of FK-KMK UGM Prof. dr. Yodi Mahendradhatta noted that the meeting was an opportunity for both institutions to continue discussions on their existing partnership. “Through this meeting, we hope to continue our discussion on the partnership that has been established, while also exploring opportunities for a dual degree program and new research collaboration with the University of Melbourne,” he said.
The event continued into an in-depth discussion covering the progress of collaboration involving the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) and the Health Policy and Hospital Administration Study Program (PKKA-PRO), as well as opportunities to further develop the partnership, including the possibility of dual degree programs and joint research.
This visit represents a concrete contribution by FK-KMK UGM toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the exploration of dual degree programs, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through collaborative research in public health, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthened international cooperation between higher education institutions.
