FK-KMK UGM. The 2023 Inter-medical School Physiology Quiz (IMSPQ) competition which was held at the UGM Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing has reached the final. Chulalongkorn University Thailand succeeded in becoming the team that won the 1st winner of IMSPQ 2023, followed by the National University of Singapore team which won the 2nd winner, and the Siriraj Hospital team, Mahidol University Thailand as the 3rd winner.
The best 10 IMSPQ 2023 written test winners are Siwut Rakngan (Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University Thailand), Muhammad Dzaky Abdillah (University of Indonesia), Kantawich Piyanirun (Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University Thailand), Sun Sin-Yuan (Tzu Chi University) , Ghitâ Leon Victor (University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iuliu Hatieganu), Tanakrit Kamonsumlitpon (Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University), Theerayut Srichan (Khon Kaen University), Kittikorn Wilasrusmee (Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University), Shu Ho Lun Collin (National University of Singapore), and Joel Ny Jia Wei (National University of Singapore). They managed to get the ten highest marks when they competed with 210 participants from 70 universities from various countries in the written test which was held on the first day of the competition.
Dean of FK-KMK UGM, dr. Yodi Mahendradhata, M.Sc., Ph.D told all participants to enjoy the experience for these 2 days. “In IMSPQ 2023, we are celebrating the return of offline activities after the pandemic,” dr. Yodi explained in his opening remarks at the IMSPQ competition which took place for two days, Saturday-Sunday, 29-30 July 2023.
Prof. Dr. Cheng Hwee Ming, Ph.D from the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya as Master Quiz of 19th IMSPQ. Prof. Cheng expressed his happiness to be able to meet in person after the pandemic through IMSPQ 2023. “Take advantage of this opportunity to find as many new friends, experiences, and networks with fellow students and lecturers who come,” Prof. Cheng said.
The IMSPQ competition consists of a written test and an oral quiz. Written test to screen 30 delegation teams which will then take part in an oral quiz which will determine the 3 winning teams. This Olympiad competed for the Prof. A. Raman trophy who was the first professor in Physiology from Universiti Malaya.
Through the IMSPQ activity which raises the slogan “PHYSIOLOGY, Homeostatic Harmony Tuned to Life” it is hoped that FK-KMK UGM will be better known and recognized for its achievements internationally, especially in the field of Physiology. Apart from academic interests, it is hoped that through this activity a collaboration or collaboration will be established in the field of Basic Medical Sciences, especially Physiology, and FK-KMK UGM in general.
