Student of FK-KMK UGM Wins Runner-Up 1 and Talented Ambassador of DIY Culture Ambassador 2025

Twistanisa Atha Brilliant Ilmi, Nutrition and Health student at the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM, won 1st Runner Up and Talented Ambassador of DIY Culture 2025 in the 2025 Special Region of Yogyakarta Cultural Ambassador Selection event. This competition was organized by the Cultural Ambassador of the Special Region of Yogyakarta at the Rama Atrium of Sleman City Hall on Saturday, February 8th, 2025.

At the competition, Twistanisa went through several selection stages, namely document selection, written selection, interview and talent tests, quarantine for 30 finalists who passed the interview and talent tests, preliminary and talent show, to the grand final. In the process, Twistanisa had the opportunity to get a golden ticket, which exempted her from taking the written test.

Throughout the competition stage, the 2023 Nutrition and Health student faced several challenges, such as the need to hone her public speaking skills and learn about the diverse cultures in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which were new to her. Additionally. Twistanisa also trained herself to be dynamic within a group during the quarantine in event. She had to be adaptable to her groupmates, who had various personalities.

As an Ambassador of Culture for DIY 2025, Twistanisa hopes that becoming a cultural practitioner and preserver does not have to come from people with a background in culture, but that anyone can contribute and play an active role in preserving culture.

“So, even though being a Cultural Ambassador is not directly related to my field of study, it does not dampen my enthusiasm,” Twistanisa said.

The participation of the Nutrition and Health student from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, UGM, in the 2025 Special Region of Yogyakarta Cultural Ambassador Selection event also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 5: Gender Equality.
