UGM Clinical Pathology Residents Win Multiple Awards at PIT XXIII

FK-KMK UGM. Residents from the Clinical Pathology Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada’s (UGM) Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) achieved remarkable success at the 23rd Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) hosted by the Indonesian Society of Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (PDS PatKLIn). The event, themed “Advancements in Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Medicine: Bridging Technology, Innovation, Collaboration, Professionalism, Ethics, Entrepreneurship, and Clinical Practices,” took place at the Padma Hotel in Semarang from October 23 to 25, 2024.

The annual event was attended by over 200 clinical pathology residents and specialists from hospitals and universities across Indonesia, providing a platform for participants to showcase scientific work, exchange knowledge, and expand professional networks within the field of clinical pathology.

In this highly competitive scientific event, three UGM clinical pathology residents and one specialist won awards in various categories. Notably, dr. Nur Imma Fatimah Harahap, Ph.D., Sp.PK, won the Hardjoeno Scientific Award for Clinical Pathology Specialists, demonstrating her research excellence and expertise in this field.

Additionally, two UGM residents won awards in the Hardjoeno Scientific Award category. Dr. Gustav Valentino, guided by dr. Usi Sukorini, M.Kes, Sp.PK(K), achieved second place, while dr. Dian Febriyani, also under dr. Sukorini’s mentorship, won third place. In the Oral Presentation category, dr. Shinta Marito Br. Hombing, supervised by dr. Tri Ratnaningsih, M.Kes, Sp.PK(K), secured the second runner-up award.

Beyond competition, PIT XXIII served as an opportunity for residents and specialists to exchange information and learn from experts, fostering growth and development within the clinical pathology field.

Through their successes, FK-KMK UGM not only demonstrates dedication to educational excellence but also shows a proactive role in advancing health sciences to benefit society at large.

These achievements reflect UGM FK-KMK’s commitment to advancing education quality and contributing to scientific development for the broader community.
