FRIENDSHIP Fellowship 2022 Graduation: Fostering Collaboration and Global Impact

FK-KMK UGM. The Global Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) program was successfully conducted by the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FK-KMK UGM) on May 14, 16, and 19, 2024, at the Tahir Foundation Building, FK-KMK UGM.

“Thank you, FAIMER, and congratulations to the alumni and participants. I hope the projects you have designed will positively impact society, and that these connections will be maintained,” said dr. Ahmad Hamim Sadewa, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FK-KMK UGM.

FAIMER welcomed 21 first-year participants, including six Master’s students in Medical and Health Professions Education, three alumni/non-students, one staff member, and one doctoral student from FK-KMK UGM, as well as seven non-students and three international participants on Monday (13/5).

Additionally, FAIMER hosted the graduation ceremony for six recipients of the FRIENDSHIP (Regional Institute of Indonesia For Educational Development and Leadership) Fellowship 2022.

The graduates are Adi Pratama Putra, Christian Edwin, Dian Puspita Sari, Vika Ekayanti, Lathifa Fauzia, and Shofiyah Latief.

“Thanks to FRIENDSHIP, I have learned how to better collaborate with others, make a real impact, and connect globally,” said Vika, a graduate from the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University.

FRIENDSHIP Director, dr. Yoyo Suhoyo, MmedEd, Ph.D., expressed gratitude to all participants for making this program an incubator for becoming good friends and great leaders in the healthcare sector – especially, in Indonesia.

“Since 2001, FAIMER has produced outstanding graduates. I have no doubt about this because I believe this is just the beginning of your journey to influence policy and become agents of change,” said Ray Wells, Ph.D., FAIMER Global Consultant.

He also encouraged the graduates to become responsible leaders and bring new perspectives to their respective professional fields.

Furthermore, FAIMER has been aligned with the commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Partnership for the Goals (SDG 17), Quality Education (SDG 4), and Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3). (Isroq Adi Subakti/Reporter).
