FK-KMK UGM. Prince of Songkla University Thailand visited Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing UGM to introduce a training program and scholarship in “TB/MDR-TB Research Training and Capacity Strengthening for LMIC in Southeast Asia Phase II” project. Discussion is held in Senat Selatan room and attended by Dr. dr. Hera Nirwati, M.Kes, Sp.MK and Dr. dr. Lina Choridah, Sp.Rad(K) as a representative of FK-KMK UGM, also other invited guests.
Not only from FK-KMK UGM, this visit was also attended by representatives of Universitas Andalas dan Universitas Riau as an initial selection committee of this program. Dr. dr. Lina Choridah, Sp.Rad(K) said that this visit not only strengthens collaboration with Prince of Songkla University but also Universitas Andalas and Universitas Riau.
Introduction of the scholarship is delivered by Assist. Prof. Wit Wichaidit, Ph.D as a representative of Prince of Songkla University. “The purposes of this program are to introduce research training program, exchange ideas and discuss future collaborations, and scholarship information for interested departments and students,” he said.
Assist. Prof. Wit Wichaidit, Ph.D also explained that the objectives of this program are to train young researchers from Southeast Asia countries, to provide short course training in TB epidemiology, and to strengthen research capacity of collaborating institutions by running technical workshops in these countries.
This event continued with discussion about research training program that was provided by Prince of Songkla University. Invited guests also visited study center around FK-KMK as the last agenda. (Nirwana/Reporter)
