FK-KMK UGM Received a Visit from PATH for Discussions on Rotavirus Clinical Trial Research Collaboration

The Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM received a visit from the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH) on Tuesday (25/02) in Meeting Room 2, UGM Central Building, 2nd Floor, North Wing, to discuss potential collaboration on clinical trials for the Rotavac and RV3 rotavirus vaccines. This visit is an important step in the collaboration between PKKA-PRO FKKMK UGM and PATH to support the development of rotavirus vaccines as part of improving children’s health in Indonesia.

This collaboration is in line with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which focuses on global partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals, where cooperation between various parties such as UGM and PATH can strengthen collective efforts in achieving other SDG goals, particularly in the fields of health and education. The discussion covered various strategic aspects of conducting clinical trials, including regulations, resource readiness, and the potential benefits of this research for the community, which is in line with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, to improve children’s health in Indonesia through the development of effective vaccines.

In addition, this collaboration also supports SDG 4: Quality Education because it involves educational institutions such as UGM, which plays a role in the development of science and research, and provides opportunities for academics and researchers to contribute to research projects relevant to global health issues. This activity is also related to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, where vaccine research supports innovation in the health sector and the development of research infrastructure in Indonesia.

This activity was attended by representatives from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) UGM, including Prof. Dr. dr. Hera Nirwati, M.Kes, Sp.MK (Deputy Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources), and Dr. dr. Sudadi Sp.An., KNA., KAR. (Vice Dean for Cooperation, Alumni, and Community Service).
