The Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine of FK-KMK UGM participated in the 8th Indonesia Preventive Cardiology Update (InaPRevent) 2025, organized by the Prevention and Rehabilitation Working Group of PP PERKI. The activity took place in Bandung on May 10-11, 2025, coinciding with the Bandung Cardiology Update 2025.
In the event, FK-KMK UGM submitted a total of six scientific papers, consisting of two papers for oral presentation sessions and four papers in the form of poster presentations. Two oral presentation finalists came from young researchers, namely Dr. Novian Fajri, who presented research on the effects of chemotherapy on heart function in breast cancer patients, and Dr. Emy Febryana explained the role of endothelin-1 biomarkers on the incidence of metabolic syndrome.
Of the four posters displayed, Dr. Avie Avievah Baroroh won the Best Poster Presenter award. Her work entitled Serum Endothelin-1 Levels and Left Ventricular Hypertrophy in Indonesian Population: Insights from Sleman HDSS Study, utilized data from the Sleman Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS). Not only students and young researchers, the participation of lecturers of the Heart and Blood Vessel Study Program also featured papers that were the result of research and registry conducted by supervisors in the FK KMK UGM environment.DFGH
This contribution to InaPRevent 2025 is in line with the FK-KMK UGM’s commitment to the partnership of the goals, especially goals 3: Healthy and Prosperous Life, by encouraging research that is relevant and oriented towards the prevention of chronic diseases. In addition, the involvement of lecturers and students in a cycle of mentoring and scientific presentations shows the real implementation of goals 4: Quality Education, and strengthens goals 17: Partnerships to Achieve Goals, through professional networks between educational institutions, professional organizations, and health practitioners.
