FK-KMK UGM. To maintain the high quality of its Professional Study Programs, the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FK-KMK UGM) welcomed assessors from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) for an on-site evaluation from September 18-21, 2024.
The assessors, including Prof. Dr. Maimun Syukri, Sp.PD-KGH., Prof. Dr. Wawaimuli Arozal, M.Biomed., Pharm.D., Dr. Sri Asriyani, Sp.Rad(K), M.Med.Ed., Dr. Retno Sari Dewi, M.Kes., Sp.KKLP., and Prof. Dr. Chatarina Umbul Wahyuni, M.S., MPH., were greeted by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Hamim Sadewa, Ph.D., who represented the Dean of FK-KMK UGM.
“We may come from different universities, but we share the same goal, and we need cooperation from the team to support the accreditation process,” emphasized Prof. Chatarina.
The initial assessment activities took place at FK-KMK UGM’s Central Office and Administrative Building (KPTU), beginning with presentations by the heads of the study programs and the Quality Assurance Unit of FK-KMK UGM.
“We have already conducted internal quality audits and external assessments through international organizations like ASIIN to capture the current condition of the study programs, provide evaluations, and offer recommendations for improvement,” explained Dr. Hamim.
Dr. Hamim also expressed hope that the final outcome of the accreditation process would be to produce competent graduates who can serve the nation and become pioneers in the health sector.
“FK-KMK’s strategic plan aims to produce creative, innovative, and adaptable graduates who can become agents of change,” he added.
Furthermore, drg. Nusati Ikawahju, M.Kes., Director of SDM, Education and Research of Sardjito General Hospital, which serves as FK-KMK UGM’s primary teaching hospital, conveyed her pride in this partnership.
“This accreditation is essential in ensuring quality standards, recognized by independent institutions, are consistently upheld in collaboration with the academic institution. Sardjito plays a key role in transferring knowledge and ensuring human resources meet established guidelines,” she concluded.
This strategic step in quality assurance reflects FK-KMK UGM’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in supporting Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reducing Inequalities (SDG 10), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
