Departments of Nursing FK-KMK UGM adheres to the CARE philosophy, which is the belief and basis for carrying out all academic community activities in both undergraduate and postgraduate program in nursing. CARE stands for Competence, Altruism, Respect, and Empathy. In nursing, as its original meaning, CARE means that all members of the departments are people who have care and empathy for others, prioritize the interests of others, and programs as well as the interests of the nation and state, can respect others, and can work professionally.

The Health Nutrition Study Program (PSGK) designs its educational activities following the philosophy of constructivism education, which is a student-focused philosophy that emphasizes the importance of active students in learning. PSGK applies SCL (Student Centered Leaning) as a teaching method.

The Doctoral Program is dedicated to students who have a career in education, research or have had sufficient professional practice experience in their field. This program requires a high time commitment. This program offers 6 disciplines:

The field of biomedical and medical education has an academic research orientation, so it can be expected to produce many international publications. Meanwhile, the field of clinical education (which is mostly attended by specialists or consultant specialists) and the field of Public Health (with participants from health managers in the Ministry/Health Office, hospital managers and others) can be grouped into academics and more professional ones.
For the medical profession who will deepen their clinical professional competence in certain fields, the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM organizes 20 specialization programs. The Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing offers a Combined Degree program for students who are interested in combining educational programs in one field with other fields. Doctors who take the Specialization education program (PPDS), during their education can take a Masters in Clinical Medicine (MS) program that is able to compete in utilizing the latest evidence-based health and medical science and technology information in clinical decision making and efforts to improve professional services. The available programs are:
  • PPDS Program and Master of Clinical Medicine (MS-PPDS Program)
  • PPDS Surgery and Masters Program in Clinical Medicine, major interests are Epidemiology and Biostatistics

CHFC-IPE

Community and Family Health Care Interprofessional Education (CFHC-IPE) is a community-based longitudinal activity which is one of the innovation products of the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM. This activity involves undergraduate students at the Faculty of Medicine which includes medical education, nursing science and health nutrition study programs. This activity aims to provide opportunities and train students to collaborate between professions in family assistance activities. The implementation is from the first semester students to the seventh semester.
