DVE FK-KMK UGM Resident Represents Indonesia at the 2025 AAD Annual Meeting in the United States

Resident of the Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics (DVE) specialist program from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) at Gadjah Mada University, dr. Nikko Vanda Limantara, participated in the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting 2025 held on March 6–11, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, United States.

On this occasion, dr. Nikko was also selected as the recipient of the “Strauss & Katz World Congress Fund Scholarship,” representing Indonesia in an international dermatology forum. This scholarship covers travel, accommodation, and full registration fees and is awarded to candidates from developing countries who are considered to have great potential to contribute to the development of dermatology in their countries.

The AAD Annual Meeting 2025 is one of the largest scientific meetings in the field of dermatology, attended by approximately 19,000 participants from various countries this year. Participants include specialists, residents, medical students, and pharmaceutical and medical device industry professionals. The forum features various scientific presentations, panel discussions, and workshops discussing the latest developments in diagnosis, therapy, and technology in the field of DVE.

In addition to clinical discussions, scholarship recipients also participated in leadership training aimed at equipping them with non-clinical skills to address global challenges in the field of skin and sexual health. Through this forum, participants were able to build international networks, exchange cross-cultural experiences, and bring home new insights that can be applied in academic and clinical settings in their home countries.

dr. Nikko’s participation in AAD 2025 is a tangible manifestation of FK-KMK UGM’s commitment to promoting the internationalization of medical education and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
