Story Behind the Picture

“The picture was taken in a workshop entitled “From Data to Action for Tobacco Control” conducted in Indonesia, April 2015. International and national speakers from the US CDC, Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health, US National Cancer Institute, Research Triangle International in the US, Universitas Gadjah Mada, MTCC UMY, and UI, this workshop was the first Data to Action about tobacco control held in Indonesia with the support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

We promote, encourage and support healthy and safe communities. We work to build capacity for individual, community and system change to improve health status and prevent disease by conducting qualified health behavior and health promotion research into action”  Since 2000, CHBP has been conducting research to facilitate preventive and health promotion action research in Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing  Universitas Gadjah  Mada. CHBP researchers pursue independent studies in the area of public health, with particular focus on health behavior and promotion, tobacco control, non-communicable diseases. In addition, the Center also runs training programs for scholars and practitioners who are interested in health behavior and promotion. CHBP is trusted by various stakeholders to conduct collaborative efforts in research, training, and community empowerment program in health Center is led by Dra. Yayi Suryo Prabandari, MSi, PhD with three main divisions: research and development division (coordinated by dr. Fatwa Sari Tetra Dewi, MPH, PhD); training, workshop, and program division (coordinated by Supriyati, SSos, MKes.); and networking division (coordinated by Dra. Retna Siwi Padmawati, MA).
