The ASEAN University Network Healthy University Rating System (AUN HURS) assessment and monitoring team visited the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) at Gadjah Mada University (UGM). This visit took place on Friday (March 14, 2025). The visit was conducted to review the health promotion activities carried out at FK-KMK UGM.
The AUN HURS team that conducted the review included Prof. dr. Chartchalerm Isarankura-Na-Ayudhya (Chair of the Committee on HURS Development), Assoc. Prof. dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj (Executive Director of AUN-HPN Secretariat), Assoc. Prof. dr. Siti Fairus Mohd Yusoff (Executive Deputy Director of the UKM Strategy Center), Varisara Lapinee (ASEAN Institute for Health Development), and Thiprada Kongtapan (ASEAN Institute for Health Development, HURS Coordinator).
Together with the Head of the UGM Integrated Health Services Bureau, Dr. dr. Andreasta Meliala, DPH., M.Kes., MAS., the team from FK-KMK UGM that welcomed AUN HURS included Dr. dr. Sudadi Sp.An., KNA., KAR. (Deputy Dean for Cooperation, Alumni, and Community Service at FK-KMK UGM), Prof. Dr. dr. Denny Agustiningsih, M.Kes., AIFM., AIFO-K (Chair of the Health Promoting University FK-KMK UGM), Prof. Dra. Yayi Suryo Prabandari, M.Si., Ph.D. (Chair of the Department of Behavior, Environmental Health, and Social Medicine, FK-KMK UGM), and Dr. Supriyati, S.Sos., M.Kes. (lecturer at the Department of Behavior, Environmental Health, and Social Medicine, FK-KMK UGM).
This visit began with a visit to the Sehati Clinic on the 2nd floor of the Tahir Selatan Building, FK-KMK UGM. The Sehati Clinic is part of the work program of the Health Promoting University (HPU) unit. The Sehati Clinic provides various consultation services for the entire academic community of FK-KMK UGM to support the creation of healthy living behaviors within the faculty environment.
Among the services offered at the Sehati Clinic are fitness consultations and examinations, healthy eating consultations, smoking cessation consultations, mental health consultations, reproductive health and lactation consultations, and POSBINDU SEHATI (Integrated Prosperous, Active, and High-Quality Health Posts) examination services that focus on early detection and health promotion, especially for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). At Sehati Clinic, Prof. Denny and the clinic team invited the AUN team to visit several rooms in the clinic, including the Consultation Room and Lactation Room.
The team then proceeded to InaHealth and the InaHealth content production studio on the 4th floor of the Tahir Selatan Building at FK-KMK UGM. InaHealth is a health media platform established by FK-KMK UGM in 2017 to provide up-to-date health information to the public based on scientific data. Some of the content programs created by InaHealth include My Meal (healthy cooking content), Hai Dok (answers to questions from the audience by experts from FK-KMK UGM), and Sehat Pedia (animated content in the form of health tips). To date, InaHealth has produced more than 800 videos and has several social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
The visit ended at the FK-KMK UGM Headquarters. The FK-KMK UGM team showed the AUN HURS team the facilities provided by the faculty to create an inclusive environment, namely, disabled-friendly paths and stairlifts for disabled members of the academic community who need to move to the 2nd floor of the Headquarters.
Health Promoting University (HPU) is a health promotion approach by universities to improve the health and well-being of the academic community. At FK-KMK UGM, HPU has been running since 2004. FK-KMK UGM’s involvement in implementing HPU is a form of FK-KMK’s contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goals, particularly point 3: Good Health and Well-being, point 4: Quality Education, point 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, point 10: Reduced Inequalities, and point 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
