FK-KMK UGM and Mahidol University Strengthen Research Collaboration in Health Promoting University Program

The Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK) UGM visited Mahidol University, Thailand, to strengthen the network of cooperation in Health Promoting University (HPU) on Friday  (02/05). This activity took place in the form of a research collaborator meeting that specifically discussed the development of joint research in the field of campus health promotion.

The delegates were Supriyati, S.Sos., M.Kes., Prof. Dr. dr. Denny Agustiningsing, M.Kes., AIFM., AIFO-K. And Prof. Dr. dr. Dicky Moch Rizal, M.Kes., Sp.And., AIFM. This visit is part of the network between FK-KMK UGM and Mahidol University that has been established since 2018. During the meeting, researchers from both institutions discussed exploring more concrete forms of research cooperation, starting from the formulation of research design, determination of instruments, to technical implementation. This meeting was also an important momentum in renewing and strengthening the memorandum of understanding of cooperation between institutions.

The Health Promoting University program, developed by FK-KMK UGM integrates the tridharma of higher education, which includes education, research, and community service. FK-KMK UGM itself has actively collaborated with various universities in Indonesia and ASEAN countries, in order to build a sustainable, healthy campus. HPU is not only an internal institutional program, but also part of a real contribution in supporting the partnership of the goals, especially goals 3: Healthy and Prosperous Life, goals 4: Quality Education, goals 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and goals 17: Partnerships to Achieve Goals. 

Through a cross-sector approach and inter-university collaboration, HPU FK-KMK UGM becomes a strategic forum in creating a campus ecosystem that supports healthy lifestyles, scientific development, and health policy innovation. With the re-establishment of this collaborative meeting, FK-KMK UGM is committed to the development to healthy campuses in Indonesia, as well as strategic partners nationally and internationally. In the future, this collaboration is expected to produce impactful joint research, strengthen institutional capacity, and become a model for adaptive and contextual application of HPU in the Southeast Asian Region.
