FK-KMK UGM. Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing UGM held an Online Lecture with the topic “Academic Career and Scholarship as Medical and Health Profession Educators” on Tuesday (11/7) through a zoom meeting. Prof. Lambert Schuwirth from Flinders University was present as a speaker in this Online Lecture.
Prof. Lambert gave an explanation of what must be considered if you want to start a career as a teacher in the health sector. There are 5 things that must be done, such as knowing your own value, making a list of goals to be achieved, knowing the limits in the field of health education, continuing to develop and managing strategies, and increasing intelligence.
The goals that are made, should include things explained by Prof. Lambert. “As a health educator, you have to influence in the fields of science, practice, other people, and be able to balance between personal and professional life,” he explained.
Prof. Lambert also added that even though they are in the health field, educators must be open to collaborating with educators or researchers in other fields. Collaboration can be done in the form of multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary. (Reporter: Nirwana)
