Gandes Retno Rahayu, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D, Vice Dean of Cooperation, Alumni, and Community Service and his staff welcome a visit from scientists in the field of Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) and Human Papilloma Virus and tumor biology infections (H-index 102) Professor Lawrence Young (10/10) in the executive room, FK-KMK KPTU building.
On this occasion, they discuss academic collaboration and the potential for collaboration in the field of research and education. A professor from Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, United Kingdom also gave a lecture titled “The Role of Epstein Barr Virus in the Pathogenesis of Cancer and Autoimmune Disease”. In a lecture held in the 2nd floor Graduate Building, Friday (11/10) ago, Prof. Lawrence stated and discussed the latest findings related to the role of EBV in cancer pathogenesis and also the incidence of autoimmunity.
The lecture held by the Department of Histology and Biomedical Masters Program was attended by approximately 50 participants consisting of students and lecturers. He said an understanding of the pathogenesis of EBV against various malignancy events and how EBV infection affects the genetic changes of host cells that have an impact on cancer.
