FK-KMK UGM. The Community Service Team from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Pengmas FK-KMK UGM) has once again conducted a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training session as part of the “One Heart in Health Tourism Program: Collective Care in Handling Cardiac Arrest Cases for Tourism Business Volunteers.”
The training was held at Omah Kecebong in Yogyakarta and aimed to educate tourism operators in Yogyakarta on how to handle cardiac arrest cases, a risk that tourists may face. The training was led by a collaborative team from FK-KMK UGM and the Indonesian Synergy Health Association. The Forensic and Medicolegal Department of FK-KMK UGM was coordinated by dr. Beta Ahlam Gizela, DFM, Sp.FM Subsp. FK (K); the Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department by Dr. dr. Djayanti Sari, M.Kes, Sp.An, KAP; and the Indonesian Synergy Health Association by Dr. Nurholis Majid, MPH.
In addition to tourism operators, the event also involved various community groups such as Kosalla Tour and Travel and the Trip Safari Jogja Community. Omah Kecebong managers participated actively in discussions and practical sessions on handling cardiac arrest cases.
Through this program, the Pengmas FK-KMK UGM team hopes that tourism operators will be more aware and capable of managing cardiac arrest cases involving guests or tourists visiting Yogyakarta. The ability of tourism operators to provide assistance is crucial since cardiac arrest can occur anytime, anywhere, and to anyone.
This initiative demonstrates FK-KMK UGM’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12).
