Yogyakarta – Melinda Gates, Co-chair and Trustee, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) visited Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada (FK UGM) on Tuesday (21/3) as part of her monitoring visit for a research cooperation program review Eliminate Dengue Project (EDP-Yogya). BMGF through the Global Health supports EDP-Global research program, which is a multi country collaboration project including Indonesia through EDP-Yogya funded by Yayasan Tahija (The Tahija Foundation). At the time of the site visit, Melinda observed the EDP-Yogya insectarium at Sekip N 14, and had an informal meeting with residents and community leaders who are directly involved in the EDP program at Kampung Kricak. Kampung Kricak is one of the selected location in Yogyakarta to release of mosquitoes containing Wolbachia. Melinda also site visited to EDP-Yogya Diagnostics Laboratory located at the Radipoetro Building FK UGM, and then discussed with the Rector Prof. Dwikorita Karnawati, the Dean Prof. Ova Emilia and EDP-Yogya team. \ sari
