DLP at Swedia

FM-UGM.The existence of Physicians Primary Service (DLP) in Indonesia still reap the pros and cons of implementation. Necessary to study more deeply about tersebut. Fakultas Medicine (FK) UGM also held discussions with the Center for Rural Medicine, Västerbotten County, Sweden which had already been implemented DLP in the country. The discussion was conducted in the Executive Lounge Building Auditorium of the Faculty (22/3).

During the discussion, Åsa Holmner explained that the DLP in the Swedish equivalent of the Specialist. Differences DLP with other specialist physicians is about DLP concentration of the scope of the smaller communities of rural area environment. Ewa-May Karlsson also confirms that there are still some problems of disease in the primary scope and that is where the role of DLP is needed. DLP contribute to improving primary healthcare in scope so that it can improve the health of rural communities.

Furthermore, Åsa said that implementation of the DLP health systems conducted in Sweden covers about 260,000 population. Distribution includes DLP, family environmental health, social environmental health, health of parents and health in the school environment. DLP role in making health care, hospitalization, emergency, x-ray, even surgery. Health systems are implemented in Sweden also supported by advanced technology facilities. One of the technologies used is telemedicine. Telemedicine enabled to check on the patient in the ward while the doctor was somewhere else to monitor. These technologies include wide-screen tablet that patients and doctors can communicate with each other and are used for cognitive behavioral therapy, therapy for Parkinson’s disease, stroke, post-surgery.
